Basics of Broom Making
Most everyone has used a broom. But have you ever thought about this humble tool? From Appalachia to Africa, from ancient history to today, from plain and simple to works of art and all things in between the humble broom has a story to tell. Let’s spend some time learning about the fascinating world of brooms. We will learn what traditional brooms are made of and take an adventure to learn about the history of brooms and the basics of how brooms are made. Along the way we will have a chance to explore the art of brooms and broom making. Over the years, Nancy has taught spinning, folk arts, wilderness skills at summer camp and now broom making. She has built her business around teaching and making beautiful handmade brooms.
